Students are learning to tell time on analog clocks. This is also practice in problem solving and relates directly to number lines. If you want to ask your child to tell time frequently during this the next few weeks this will assist with the work we are doing in school.
Continue to keep reading a part of your child's routine. Bedtime stories and shared stories are great for vocabulary practice.

September 16th
Some students are saying that they are not eating a good breakfast. Children are welcome to go to the cafeteria when they arrive at school. If you drop your child off right on time, he or she can still get breakfast and bring it to class. If students skip breakfast it is hard to concentrate during math class. Snack is at 10:10.
Each night that you read to your child, her or his vocabulary and comprehension of books increases. Also, the love of reading happens. Enjoy a book with your child.
The homework for Labor Day weekend is to enjoy your child. Read to your child each day and listen to your child read. Have a nice weekend!
